Nordson EFD Demonstrates Fluid Dispensing Techniques to Improve Medical Product Assembly and Laboratory Processes at MD&M East

Nordson EFD, a Nordson company (NASDAQ: NDSN), the world’s leading precision fluid dispensing systems manufacturer, will be demonstrating several fluid dispensing techniques to improve medical device assembly and laboratory processes at MD&M East, in booth #2021.

On display will be Nordson EFD’s PICO® xMOD exchangeable modular valve mounted on a 4-axis robot demonstrating needle hub bonding. All parts of this valve can be easily and quickly exchanged and replaced, reducing downtime. The system operates at unprecedented speeds of up to 500Hz with excellent process control for high dot-to-dot consistency.

Nordson EFD’s 754V aseptic dispense valve mounted on a 3-axis robot simulating filling vials with reagent will also be displayed. This valve features a smooth fluid flow path that is free of any entrapment areas. FDA-compliant wetted parts make the valve suitable for clean-in-place and sterilize-in-place medical assembly processes.

In addition, Nordson EFD is honored to be a finalist for the Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA). The winners are being announced at a ceremony being held during MD&M East. Nordson EFD was recognized for designing and supplying the Digit Power dispenser, which is being used by Dentsply International, LD Caulk Division, to manufacture the Aquasil Ultra Cordless tissue managing impression system. The MDEA competition is the MedTech industry’s premier awards program. It fosters innovation by honoring the highest caliber medical devices on the market today.
